Get a jump start on using your GPS! This class is intended for new users of a GPS or people who want to brush up on the basics of GPS or understand some of the principles behind GPS. There will be an indoor hands-on workshop followed by outdoor exercises. For more information look under http://www.mountaineers.org/seattle/navigation/ and check out the GPS section. You'll find notes on important features to look for when purchasing a GPS, FAQs on their use, using UTM coordinates and much more. When registering, please provide the model of the GPS unit you plan to bring to the session or put in a reservation for one of limited number of loaner GPSes.
