GPS Navigation: Using CalTopo and Gaia GPS

This one night workshop at the Seattle Program Center covers the use of GPS, with either a smartphone app or a dedicated receiver. The workshop runs from 6:30 to around 9:00 and includes both an indoor presentation and outdoor exercises.

This course assumes participants have a working knowledge of UTM coordinates. Prior completion of the Wilderness Navigation course is strongly encouraged.
