Mike Harrell, a lecturer in the University of Washington’s Earth and Space Sciences department, spoke as part of the Naturalists Study Group’s winter lecture series Feb. 11, 2016. Mike traced our Northwest icon's geologic development from the subduction of tectonic plates through the various convulsions of growth that produced the Mountain as we know it today.
