8:15 AM at 65th street park and ride or 9 AM at trailhead by exit 20 on I-90. Discover pass is needed to park at the main trailhead, since this is a state park
We will emphasize mosses, lichens and tree identification and will also bird watch. We will go up the not-heavily traveled Nook trail and come down via the Section Line and Bus trails going by Tradition and Round Lakes. There is forest and more open, marshy area below. We should see feeding flocks and raptors.
Required Equipment
bring 10 essentials.
Bring binoculars and magnifying loupe (I'll bring extra loupes)
Wear sturdy hiking boots.
Dress for weather, with layers.
