Explore Mt. Rainier National Park's great variety of wildflowers, breathtaking views ( weather permitting) and collaborative learning environment.

Please meet at Summerland Trailhead by 9:00am.  After brief introductions, we'll begin the hike by 9:15am.  Between the drive time and time on the trail, this will be a full day.  Please do not make plans for after the hike.

This is a Naturalist hike so the pace will vary.  When we are actively studying plants/animals, we'll be moving at a glacial pace.  In between those study sessions, we'll pick up the pace so that we can arrive at our destination - Summerland.

We will see forest flowers, alpine flowers, ferns, butterflies, birds and marmots.
