Field trip: Introduction to the Natural World Course

Field Trip 2 - Seattle Naturalists Intro Natural World Course - Snow Mountain Ranch

Come experience the native shrub-steppe habitat in sunny, dry Eastern Washington. Snow Mountain Ranch was private property purchased by the Cowiche Canyon Conservancy to conserve and restore this amazing ecosystem. See unique plants, strange birds, and signs of a porcupine.

We will meet at 9:15am at the Starbucks in Yakima at 3903 River Rd, Yakima, WA 98902 (off N. 40th Ave behind McDonald's and across the street from Fred Meyer) and caravan to the Snow Mountain Ranch parking lot, since it can be hard to find. I suggest leaving Seattle between 6:30-6:45am to be at Starbuck's on time.

This is an Introduction to the Natural World class field trip.  We will focus on the basics, primarily looking at plants, but also birds, butterflies, and other natural wonders.  Bring binoculars, loops. & your favorite identification sources.
