This will be an all day field trip into a top birding spot in Canada, not far from the US border. Please read the leader notes carefully. You will not be able to attend without proper proof of citizenship.

You will be required to show that you have valid ID for entry into Canada. 

 

We are going to a top birding spot in Canada, the  George C. Reifel Migratory Bird Sanctuary . There is a $5.00 (Canadian) entry fee per adult.

We plan to arrive at the opening time of 900am, eat lunch around 1130am, and leave the sanctuary around 200pm or earlier/later if a group of carpoolers desires. 

The walking will flat, approximately 4 miles or so.

Canadian law requires that all persons entering Canada carry both proof of citizenship and proof of identity. A valid U.S. passport, passport card, or NEXUS card satisfies these requirements for U.S. citizens. Don't forget your documents. Please read the link below.

We will be looking and listening for both migratory and resident birds. Bring binoculars; field guides are optional. Bring your smartphone or tablet with the Merlin or other app and use it to practice identifying species. Cameras are optional, but highly recommended. There will be plenty of time for photography. 

The leaders do not have a spotting scope, so if you have one please bring it.

Bring a lunch and something to drink (non-alcoholic), but note that there are restrictions regarding what food can be brought into Canada, such as no fresh fruits//vegetables. See the below link:
