We will meet at the Tibbetts Valley Park and Ride lot, 965 12th Ave NW, in the parking lot next to the skateboard park at 8:45AM. (SE corner of State Hwy 900 and Newport Way) We will then travel 10 minutes south on State Hwy 900 to the Margaret’s Way Trailhead parking lot. No parking pass required. Plan on taking fifteen minutes to gear up, stretch, and introduce ourselves before commencing the pacing hike.
This is a CHS 2 pacing hike (2.0 - 3.0 MPH). We’ll hike out to Debbie’s View which is a delightful lookout point with views of Mt Rainier and the surrounding foothills on a clear day. From the trailhead our route will follow Margaret’s Way to the end, then turn right on the Chybinski trail, then right on the Perimeter Loop, followed by another quick right to reach our midway point at Debbie’s View. We’ll take a short 15-20 minute break for snacks or an early lunch before returning back the same route we came up.
The trail is quite muddy at this time. Therefore, I recommend you wear a pair of gaiters, if you have them.
The 10 Essentials are required!
Hope for sun, plan for rain.
