Whiskey Dick Mountain is one of my favorite hikes for the early season.  It has delicious smelling sagebrush, flowering hedgehog cactus, big yellow, small purple and pink flowers.  It is vastly different from the lush green forests we are used to hiking here in western and even central Washington.  The views look toward the Columbia River and even Mt Rainier on a clear day.
