  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 12.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 3,300 ft
  • Pace: 2.0-3.0 mph

07:30 AM at TH.  Early start as trail has rocky areas, steep sections, and probable blown downs (unless cleared by Trail Angels).   Half mile past Skykomish Ranger Station on Hwy 2, turn right (south) on Road 68, Foss River Road.   In about 2.4 miles go under a train trestle and take the right fork.  In another mile, take another right at the fork.  Go past TH for Necklace Valley Trail and in about 7/10 mile, turn left onto Road 6835 for Trail 1064 for just about two mile, our TH.  Facility.  Self-issue permit. NWF Pass required.

Premier destination for very adventurous backpackers completing the loop or going deep into the Necklace Valley.   High usage trail.  Doubtful any lingering snow but expect lots of bugs and if hot, it might also be humid.  Lots of water options.
