CHS 2 Hike - Umtanum Ridge

Field trip: Conditioning Hiking Series

CHS 2 Hike - Umtanum Ridge

CHS2 hike led at a CHS 2 pace (2.0-3.0 mph). This is a lovely spring hike in Eastern WA with great potential for a flower show. The trail leads out of Yakima Canyon up to the top of Umtanum Ridge. With clear weather we will also have views of Mount Stuart, Mount Rainier, Mount Adams, and Mount Hood.

  • Moderate/Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 6.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,400 ft
  • Pace: 2.0-3.0 mph

Lets meet at 7:30 AM at the Tibbets Park and Ride Lot in Issaquah (I will provide more specific directions in my "hello hiker" email).

This is one of my favorite early season hikes as we stand a better chance of clear weather over there east of the Cascades. Plus this trail should have some nice spring flowering to entertain us along the way.  Be prepared for possible windy conditions and/or some bright sun.
