6:00AM at the Preston P&R (exit 22 off of Hwy I-90).  This will be a long day so don't expect to be back at the P&R before 9:00PM.

One of my  all-time favorite hikes!   We'll hike past pretty Pete Lake and then head up to Spectacle Lake where we will have lunch with a view of Chikamin Ridge (and perhaps a swim if it's a warm day!) before making the long trek back.  Part of this trail travels through an old burn area that has rebounded beautifully with lots of greenery, silver snags, and fireweed galore.

Special note -- there will be many small streams to cross which will require fancy footing to keep your feet dry and one significant crossing of Lemah Creek which will require water shoes (I use crocs) and trekking poles (you will need two) for balance.  I last hiked this in 2015 in early August and the crossing was about knee-high and swift but easily doable with the right equipment.  Please do not sign up for this hike if this type of water crossing makes you uneasy or you don't like getting your feet wet!

We'll stop for a bite to eat in Roslyn on the way home.
