CHS 2 Hike - Royal Basin

One of the top 100 hikes in Washington state, on the east side of Olympic National Park. The trail cuts through the Royal Creek vale to a lake beneath snow capped mountains. This hike offers views of wild rivers, old-growth huge trees, waterfalls, alpine lakes and tarns, all surrounded by both snow-covered as well as dry, craggy mountains. CHS hike led at a CHS 2 pace (2.0-3.0 mph)

Meeting place and time via email. Options will be to meet at trailhead or at the Edmonds-Kingston ferry. The forest road to the trailhead is long and gravelly but doable for most vehicles (approximately 16 miles).

Please note that hike leaders will change the destination to a closer location with similar conditioning stats for smoke, severe heat, or other poor weather.
