CHS 2 Hike - Mount Aix

Field trip: Conditioning Hiking Series

CHS 2 Hike - Mount Aix

A tough climb to an expansive ridgewalk and former fire lookout site. Come see the hike that started the Rainier campouts. CHS hike led at a CHS 2 pace (2.0-3.0 mph)

  • Very Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 12.0 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 4,200 ft
  • Pace: 2.0-3.0 mph

We will meet at the trailhead at 8am, although we may group up at a P&R beforehand since there is no cell service at the TH and the end of the road is rough.

This hike has a traverse across loose rock with a steep drop on one side; folks who are nervous around exposure would probably not enjoy this.
