Hello! Welcome to the Sunday, June 4, CHS-2 hike to the summit of Mt. Si (via the old trail). 7.4 miles, with 3,420 ft gain (high point 3,980 ft). We are looking forward to a great hike!

Hike details via the WTA site:

Meeting location: 7:00 AM at the Little Si trailhead. Note the Mt. Si (Old Trail) and Little Si trailheads share the same parking lot. Hike starts from here. Depending on traffic, it is approx. 45 minutes to 1 hour from Seattle to the trailhead. A Discover Pass is required at the trailhead. As this is a "close-to-town" hike, we thought it would be most efficient to simply meet at the trailhead. If you would like to carpool, please use the trip roster to coordinate. If carpooling, please remember to bring carpool money.

Map: We like the Green Trails 206S Mt Si map, though there are other map options, including online possibilities.

WTA directions: Traveling on I-90 East, approaching North Bend, take exit 32 for 436th Ave SE and turn left. Head 0.5 miles on 436 Ave SE and take a left on SE North Bend Way. Proceed 0.3 miles and turn right on SE Mount Si Road. The main parking lot for Little Si will be 0.4 miles on your left as the road straightens out after the bend (if you pass 439 Pl SE or 440 PL SE, you have driven too far).

In case the main parking lot is full, there is an overflow parking lot west of the main lot tucked into SE Mt Si Rd and 434 Ave SE (you pass this lot just before the main lot). There is a trail connecting the two. There are two toilets in the main parking lot just off the trailhead.

Weather: As of this writing (5/31), the forecast is mostly sunny, with a high near 66. Do be prepared for showers, as the weather seems to be a moving target each time we check.

General info: Our goal is to have fun hiking this beautiful trail. Please ensure you have the Hiking Essential Systems with you. Of course wear appropriate layers and have something warm(er) to put on for our summit break - and remember to avoid wearing cotton and no jeans. Ensure you have plenty of water and bring a hearty snack for our summit break.

Post hike: We will plan an optional post hike stop at Pioneer Coffee in North Bend (202 W North Bend Way).

Recommend bringing a change of footwear and a bag for muddy boots/shoes - especially if you intend to carpool. If the forecast turns to rain, you might also appreciate a change of clothes.
