Steve will be driving around from Star Lake P&R in Federal Way (I-5 south to exit 147, right at light, right at next light, right into P&R lot, look for green RAV4 with hatch open). Meet time 5:45 a.m. (Note that the drive-around is quicker than the ferry.)

This hike is on the Hood Canal side of the Olympics near Hoodsport. Normally done as a three-day backpack, we'll feast on some of the best eye candy the Olympics has to offer as we hike the North Fork Skokomish River to Flapjack Lakes and Black & White Lakes! There are numerous water sources for filtering if you want to keep your pack weight down -- just please know how to operate your equipment to minimize waiting. Poles and over-the-ankle boots recommended for steep sections.
