Field trip: Conditioning Hiking Series

CHS 2 Hike - Deer Ridge & Blue Mountain

Through parklands, meadows, and basalt outcroppings, the trail weaves its way along Deer Ridge to Deer Park delivering breathtaking views at every bend. From here, we will continue to the summit of Blue Mountain. A great conditioning hike, led at a CHS 2 pace (2.0-3.0 mph).

Plan on catching the 7:10am ferry from Edmonds to Kingston. If necessary, we can also arrange a secondary meet up spot for anyone who is already over on the peninsula Friday morning.

It is roughly 1 hour and thirty minutes from Kingston Ferry to the Deer Ridge Trailhead, so we should be at the trailhead at about 9am.

Details will be emailed to registered participants a few days before the hike.

From here, we'll continue on to the summit of Blue Mountain. The Blue Mountain summit offers views of the Straight of Juan de Fuca to the Cascades to Vancouver Island.

Parking Pass/Entry Fee: Northwest Forest Pass required for parking.

Please note that hike leaders will change the destination to a closer location with similar conditioning stats for smoke, severe heat, or other poor weather.
