CHS 1 Hike - Wallace Falls & Lake

CHS1 hike led at pace 1.5-2.0 mph. Hike to three beautiful waterfalls and quiet Wallace Lake on this trail just outside of Gold Bar.

  • Moderate
  • Moderate
  • Mileage: 9.5 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 1,500 ft
  • Pace: 1.5-2.0 mph

Since parking is limited at the trailhead and the hike to the first couple of falls is popular, we will leave at 7:30 am from the Brickyard Road Park and Ride, 15530 Juanita Woodinville Way NE in Bothell.  Alternatively meet at the Wallace Falls trailhead in Gold Bar at 8:15 am.  A rest room is available at the trailhead

The trail is in good condition overall. The trail does becomes  progressively more rocky with tree roots across the tread above the second and falls and there is a short unmaintained section through private property above the third falls.  There is a 50 foot long muddy section near Wallace Lake that has stepping stones across it so having hiking poles is useful.  We will stopping at all three falls for a look and then at Wallace Lake for a snack/lunch.  Afterwards, we will be stopping in either Gold Bar or Sultan for a snack/lunch.
