Field trip: Conditioning Hiking Series

CHS 1 Hike - Thunder Creek–Fourth of July Pass

Tumbling streams with waterfalls, snow-capped mountain peaks and old growth trees are just some of the spectacular sights along this trail. At the pass, we'll also be treated to views of Colonial Peak, Snowfield Peak and Neve Glacier. CHS hike led at a CHS 1 pace (1.5-2.0 mph).

  • Very Strenuous
  • Challenging
  • Mileage: 9.2 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 2,900 ft
  • Pace: 1.5-2.0 mph

Meet at Ash Way Park and Ride to consolidate carpools at 6 a.m.

Steady gain with some very steep  parts.

This hike will be led at a CHS 1 pace so if you are not comfortable hiking at a slower pace, this may not be the hike for you. We will hike together. Please do not run ahead of the group.

I will likely want to stop on the way back to Seattle for a meal.  This hike is a long drive from Seattle so please do not make any other plans as it will likely be a very long day.
