CHS 1 Hike - Snow & Gem Lakes (Snoqualmie)

We will hike to a pair of stunning alpine lakes - Snow and Gem lakes. Those interested can optionally continue on to the summit of Wright Mountain and 360 degree views, or have a relaxed lunch on the shores of Gem Lake.

Both the lakes are really spectacular, and so are the views from the summit of Wright Mountain at 5400 ft.

We'll start from Alpental at 8:00 AM, to get enough time for  the optional side trip to the summit of Wright mountain, where we can obtain spectacular 360 degree views. The trail up the mountain beyond Gem Lake is a boot path, with several Talus fields that might require some semi-scrambling.

Please note, there is no pressure to reach the summit. It is OK to stop the ascent at any point, or to completely decline participation in the summit attempt. This is simply an optional opportunity to try it out safely, and see for yourself if you enjoy it.

We'll hike at CHS1 pace, but we'll take time for hourly breaks, much picture-taking, and wherever a nice view presents itself.
