Please arrange carpools from where you live to our meeting location at the Cook Road Park & Ride across the street from Starbucks on the I-5 exit 232. We plan to depart from here at 8:30. Come early if you want to run to the Starbucks to use the restroom, buy food or drinks. We will condense our vehicle numbers to as few as we need and travel about 30 minutes to the north to the trailhead off of Barrel Springs Road, Alger.
We will travel to Lizard and Lily Lakes in route to Oyster Dome from the east side of the Blanchard Mountain Recreation Area. Most people know of the Chuckanut trailhead which is very crowded with limited parking on the highway. There is a primitive restroom near our trailhead. A Discover Pass is needed.
A snack should be adequate for on the trail. We will be stopping after the hike for a social lunch.
