Field trip: Conditioning Hiking Series

CHS 1 Hike - Mount Teneriffe-Mount Si Traverse

We will summit 2 iconic mountains, Mount Si and Mount Teneriffe, on this lovely loop hike. The trail is mostly wooded including some old growth, with wonderful views from the summits if the weather cooperates. Lots of elevation gain, but we'll take it slowly.

  • Mileage: 13.5 mi
  • Elevation Gain: 4,800 ft
  • Pace: 1.5 mph moving speed or whatever is comfortable for the group

Meet at 7 am at the Mount Si Trailhead, boots on and ready to hike.  There is a toilet at the trailhead. 

We will stop hourly for a snack and water break.

Bring poles if you have them.

Goals:

Everyone return safely to the trailhead

Meet new people and get to know others better

Everyone is successful and enjoys the hike—have fun

Expectations:

Hikers are at the meeting place ready to go at the indicated time

Break lengths will be indicated and everyone will be ready to go at the end time

Everyone will be treated with respect

If there is an issue, bring it up to the leader as early as possible--before the hike if known

Suggestions are welcome, but the leader makes the final decision
