CHS 1 Hike - Lower Big Quilcene

The moss-lined route which follows the Lower Big Quilcene River starts on an old roadbed through younger forest and then winds past large old-growth cedars. Blooming rhododendrons should add vibrant color to this hike! Hike at CHS1 pace (1.5-2.0 mph).

Leave the Mountlake Terrace Center  Park & Ride  at 630am in order to carpool and meet the 7:10am Edmonds Ferry.  Alternatively, meet at the Hood Canal Ranger District Quilcene Station at 8:30am. We expect to stop at Quilbilly in Quilcene for an outside after hike social and take an evening ferry back from Kingston.

The hike will go for a short distance after cossing the bridge over the Lower Big Quilcene River at Camp Jolley.
