Please join us for a lovely hike through old growth forest leading us to an island respite about 4.5 miles in.  Here we'll find the perfect rock to sit a spell and enjoy our surroundings before heading back to our cars.

With optimism of a gorgeous weather day we will meet at the trail head at 7:30am with the goal of being boots on and ready to hit the trail at 7:45am.  If the weather permits a bit of a sleep in we can take advantage as the hike gets closer.  This hike will start out with some gain and then gradually evens out for a total of around 2300 ft gain.  Our 'hello hiker' email will be sent after a scouting trip to help suggest gear based on trail conditions.

Please see below for directions from WTA.

To the Granite Creek trailhead: Note, the trailhead is past the popular Mailbox Peak trailhead.  From Seattle, drive east on I-90 to exit 34. Turn left onto 468th Ave SE and follow it 0.6 miles to the junction with SE Middle Fork Road. Turn right and follow SE Middle Fork Road 2.1 miles, until reaching a fork. Stay to the right on Lake Dorothy Road, and pass the Granite Creek Connector trailhead 0.7 miles later, on your right. 2.2 miles farther, just before the bridge across the Middle Fork Snoqualmie River, reach a driveway to your right, which leads to the Granite Creek trailhead. The trailhead has parking for 37 vehicles (2 disabled spaces). A privy and kiosk with a map are at the parking area. There is overflow parking along FR 56, opposite the trailhead, for 14 vehicles.

Given COVID protocols, please be sure to pack at least one mask and hand sanitizer.  Hikers will not be required to wear a mask at all times throughout the hike, however those who wish to wear masks will be respected by the group and leaders.
