CHS 1 Hike - Fragrance Lake

CHS hike led at a CHS 1 pace (1.5-2.0 mph). Climb from Chuckanut Drive up to and around Fragrance Lake. A nice view of the San Juans from a viewpoint half way up. We are not continuing on to Lost Lake.

Meet just inside the Larrabe State park entrance, parking below the entry kiosk at 10am. Alternatively, carpool from the Ash Way P&R, leaving at 9am. I'll  send a photo showing the parking below the entrance kiosk with the "Hello Hiker" letter. You will need a Discover Pass to park at this state park.

Chuckanut Mountain and Larrabe State Park just south of Bellingham has a great set of trails that can be used year round. I've done over twenty WTA days of trail maintenance here and will proudly point out some of the projects I was involved with. The trail climbs through beautiful forest and deer, eagles and other wildlife are usually seen. Some nice spots for a lunch break up at the lake.

Post-hike snacks and beverages in historic Edison afterwards at the Old Edison Inn

A great map for this area, available at REI, is "Chuckanut Recreation Area" from Square One Maps, $12.95
