We'll meet at the Ash Way Park and Ride at 6:00am. Driving time to the trailhead is about 2.5hrs from the Park and Ride (~110 miles).

This is an iconic Mt. Baker area hike. It starts out pretty steep but turns into a wonderful ridge hike after about 2 miles. We'll start at the Welcome Pass trail head and hike 6 miles to Excelsior Peak. Then turn around and come back the way we came. We're not climbing the peak. Look here for the WTA description and latest trip reports. Latest report states that the road is "passable". The trail is in good shape and snow free. Bugs were an annoyance.

I'm guessing we'll start around 9am and should be back at the trail head around 4pm.
