CHS 1 Hike - Excelsior Peak

CHS hike led at a CHS 1 pace (1.5-2.0 mph) up the West High Divide trail over Excelsior Pass then continuing on the East High Divide Trail.

We hope to have boots on the trail before 8am because the parking lot is limited. Expect to meet around 6:15am at the Chuckanut P&R at Exit 231 to carpool to the trailhead up highway 542 (Mt Baker highway).

Scouted the hike on 7/17. Ascend at 900 feet per mile for 4 miles to the pass then travel a contour east for a mile or two taking in views of peaks and wildflowers before retracing our route.
