Meet at 8:15 AM at the East Sunset Way trailhead which is about 0.3 miles south of I-90, exit 18.  Boots on the trail at 8:30.  No pass is needed.

This hike is for vaccinated, CHS alums only.

We will take a connector trail to the Wetlands Trail and then the Adventure Trail, which is a less traveled alternative to the High School Trail, prior to joining up to the Poo Poo Point Trail.  Trail starts steeply, ascending about 325 feet in 0.4 miles, but then levels out and eventually drops about 100 feet.  At about 1.5 miles, when we connect with the Poo Poo Point Trail there is then an ascent of about 1500 feet over 2.5 miles.

This time of the year, the trail is sure to be muddy in some spots so gaiters are recommend. There are also some steep spots so poles are recommended, although the recent re-route of the Poo Poo trail eliminates the steepest trail sections.  There can obviously be rain (although I have done this hike in bright sunshine this time of the year) and there can be snow accumulated on the trail so being prepared to bring rain gear and microspikes, as needed, is a must.  More details will be sent in the Hello Hiker letter.
