We will meet at the Preston Park and Ride at 6:45am.

This hike, on the east end of the Yakima Military reservation, travels thru endless gardens of desert wildflowers.  Expect to see various species of phlox, balsamroot and microsensis.  This rail line turned trail passes the remnants of the townsite of Doris, a long gone train stop on the old Milwaukee-Chicago-St Paul Railroad.  The trail is located just south of Vantage and west of the Columbia River.  Bring your binoculars to observe raptors and herds of mule deer.  Temperatures will range from the mid 50s to mid 60s.

Plan on having a post hike meal in Ellensburg or Cle Elum.
