This course is designed to prepare students to learn the skills to lead climb single pitch traditional routes at crags. Students will be given time and education to safely and efficiently place gear and develop new climbing skills that will help them break into a new type of climbing.
Students must be already leading sport routes (bolted routes) to be eligible for this course. Prospective students must submit a completed application to the course leader to apply.

Required:
- one set of Camelots size .3 to a #3
- full set of nuts
- helmet
- harness
- rock shoes
- 2 personal anchors
- 6 24 inch alpine slings with 2 wire gate biners per sling
- 3 locking biners
- auto blocking belay device, ei petzle reverso, BD ATC Guide, mega jel
- nut tool
- 20 feet cordalette, 6M nylon, 5M tech cord or spectra
Optional:
- smaller Camelots optional; BDC3's, or any other brand
- chalk bag
