This course is designed to prepare students to learn the skills to lead climb single pitch traditional routes at crags. Students will be given time and education to safely and efficiently place gear and develop new climbing skills that will help them break into a new type of climbing.
Students must be already leading sport routes (bolted routes) to be eligible for this course.

Required:
- one set of cams size .3 to a #3
- full set of nuts
- helmet
- harness
- rock shoes
- 2 personal anchors
- 6 24 inch alpine slings with 2 wire gate biners per sling
- 3 locking biners
- auto-blocking belay device: BD ATC Guide or Petzl Reverso recommended
- nut tool
- 20 feet cordelette, 6mm nylon, 5mm tech cord or spectra
- smaller cams optional
- chalk bag
