6pm to 9pm in the Program Center, meet in conference rooms Cascade A & B

In this second workshop, we'll cover:

  • quick knots review, anchor-evaluation
  • some teaching & learning tips
  • how to connect to a fixed line for protected scrambling (prusik vs PA, clipping past pro)
  • ascending a free-hanging rope with a pair of prusiks, using gear you'd have on you for a rock climb
  • belay tie off (mule-knot) with device & munter-hitch
  • if time, just introduce the setup of an extended rappel with autoblock somewhere close  to the ground.   Friction slabs in basement could work well.

We'll do what we can in Cascade A & B.  We may also try to use part of the basement.
