Following Alpine Rock - Workshop - Core Instructional Content - Mountaineers Seattle Program Center

6pm to 9pm in the Program Center Basement, north side (by the friction slabs)

In this first workshop of the course, we'll cover:

• knots
• rope coiling
• verify existing top-rope belay technique, teach lead-belay technique if necessary
• discuss anchor evaluation, how to tie in
• introduce belay tie-off with mule knot
• introduce munter belay

Ideally, we'll be in the Program Center basement, the northern half of it, near the friction slabs in there.  If the weather allows, we'll also use the outside space north of the building, where the bigger friction slabs are.
