Weather forecasting for Mountaineers.  Understanding and predicting mountain weather is a critical skill. Come learn from an expert. Dennis D'Amico is an avalanche meteorologist with the Northwest Avalanche Center. He has been a weather forecaster for over ten years and this is his third season with NWAC. Dennis will discuss how to best plan your day in the mountains. He will also touch upon on how to best use the existing mountain weather station network for backcountry planning purposes and how to adjust in the field when the forecast goes awry. Open to all, this talk is best for those who already have a basic understanding of meteorology (high and low pressure, cold/warm fronts, etc).
