Participants will plan the logistics for the field trip during this session based on the first lecture. Leaders will be available for questions as needed.

Students will lead us through the trip planning based on learnings from the first lecture.

Rough itinerary for the field trip is:

  1. Meet at Alpental parking lot on 5/22 at a civil hour in the AM
  2. Hike in to Source Lake (or higher) and establish camp
  3. Review field trip material (~5 hours of content)
  4. Dinner + sleep in the snow (no tents!)
  5. Depart for the summit of Chair Peak (via SE Route) on Sunday AM
  6. Stash Skis around 5800 ft and continue booting up to summit
  7. Return to skis (soft snow) and return to camp.
  8. Ski to cars pending snow conditions (return by early afternoon)
