A one day outing in the snow at Steven's Pass for Members of Bill and David's Glacier Travel team.

Stevens Pass Ski Resort, first parking lot on right of hwy heading east.  Additional info will be sent by email prior to trip date. Be ready to go at 8:10 am from the parking lot.

We will cover use of crampons, roped team travel in snow, use of ice axe, self belay and self arrest, walking in balance, terrain evaluation and group communication.  We will meet at the Stevens Ski Resort parking lot and be ready to go at 8:10 am. Estimated time to complete is NLT 3 PM.   Detailed email instructions will be sent to members of the team in advance of meeting. Registration is handled by the primary instructor for this event. It is open to only individuals in the Glacier Travel Course.

Required Equipment

Required Equipment

Helmet, ice axe, boots, gaiters, crampons, several pairs of gloves, rain gear (top and bottom), harness, your assortment of biners and prusiks and webbing, food and water for the day, extra layers of clothing for warmth (we will not be traveling very far), change of clothes in the car, and the ten essentials.  

If you own any pickets bring them, buy do not go out and buy one.
