Arrive in the upper parking lot at 7:15am for a 7:30am departure.   We will travel up and down the Old Trail.

This is a timed fitness check hike intended for Basic Glacier Travel students in Mark Hurst's SIG.  Others Glacier students may be allowed to join if space permits.

Participants are expected to start the hike with the greater of 25 lb or 20% body weight pack, and to reach the mailbox in less than 2.5 hours from the trailhead.  I will bring a fish hook scale and some extra water bottles in case anyone needs to add some ballast.  This can also just be a good conditioner activity for you - there will be future opportunities to pass the fitness test.
