Basic Climbing Refresher
Basic Climbing Refresher is a series of independent clinics. This series provides Basic graduates from previous years the opportunity to review and practice rock and snow skills. Non-members with similar training and skills also welcome.

Basic Climbing Refresher is a series of independent CLINICS for Basic Grads, and those with equivalent training and experience. This series is an opportunity to learn current best practices, new gear, new techniques and brush up on your skills. There is no pressure - you can challenge yourself and increase your skill level, or relax as you review familiar techniques.
Sign up for one clinic or all.
Non-members, and those without a Basic Climbing or Glacier Travel badge, will need to contact the leader for sign up for the clinics.
Skill clinics will be offered throughout the year, depending on demand and instructor availability.
CLINICS:
Fundamental Skills: a session at the Seattle Program center where you will review knots, belay skills, rappel skills, and prussiking up ropes.
Rock Skills: a session at a rock crag where we will set up anchors, belay, climb, rappel.
Snow and Glacier Travel Skills: a session at a ski area where we will practice crevasse rescue, snow travel and ice axe arrest, and snow anchor building.
There is no grading. No badge is awarded.
This course has no scheduled activities.
Varies by clinic. Check each clinic for required equipment.
