6:30-9:00 pm in Issaquah.  Address will be shared privately with attendees.

We will eat and socialize from 6:30 to 7, either potluck or chip in for pizza, TBD later.  

Students should complete the following reading from Freedom of the Hills before this event:  Chapters 2 and 3 on Clothing, Gear,  and Equipment and Chapter 9 on Basic Safety Systems.

We will go over gear that students will need for the course, and we will work on knot tying.

Bring your practice rope.  Paper and pen are helpful for taking notes or a phone to record video and take photos of knots and gear.  

Bring your harness and one or two locking carabiners.  Make sure everything is labeled.  If you don't have these yet, it's okay.  Bring a belt, and we'll have carabiners to share.

No need for students to bring any of their gear besides the carabiners and harness and practice rope.
