Leaders Permission Required! Make sure you are in this SIG or have permission to join us by checking with the leader, Emma Agosta, before registering. The field trip will focus on introducing basic climbing class students to the basics of snow belays, snow anchors, crevasse rescue, traveling together on a rope, and snow camping. 

We will camp on Mazama Ridge or above Sliuskin Falls, depending on weather.  Day One will cover ice axe techniques, ice axe arrest, snow belays, anchors, passing protection, and general snow camping skills. Day 2 will cover roped travel and other snow travel skills, and crevasse rescue on snow. The snow travel portion will go up to Cowlitz Rocks, covering many topics along the way.
