Seattle Basic Alpine SIG Field Trip - Rock Climbing - Vantage (Frenchman Coulee)

SIG Field Trip - SIG ROCK (Rock Climbing, Belay, Rappel, & Anchors) for Wallace SIG

  • Sat, Mar 18, 2017
  • Seattle Climbing
  • Climbing
  • Adults
  • Crag Rock Climb
  • For Beginners (Getting Started Series)

We will arrange carpools as the date approaches, but probably many of us will rendezvous at the Issaquah Transfer Station P&R at 6:20.

This is the student sign-up for the SIG Rock Field Trip - Rock climbing with your SIG. Activities include climbing, belaying and rappelling.  Location listed is Vantage but depending on weather and other conditions it could be Peshastin Pinnacles or Mt Erie.  Also, keep March 19 open also as a weather backup.

This is a SIG activity but also is a requirement for continuation in the Basic Course.  If you cannot join us you will need to do a make-up with another SIG.  Leader can help with that if needed.

Also, room permitting, we may be able to accept students from other SIGs needing a make-up.

Required Equipment

Standard rock gear including harness, helmet, slings and 'biners, chock pick, both mountain boots and rock shoes.  If you don't have rock shoes, try to borrow.  Don't buy them just for this trip.  Also bring layers of clothing and day pack with linch and water.

We plan to use club ropes.
