Info
COVID-19: Learn about our most up-to-date guidance for participants and leaders on our COVID-19 Response page. All participants and leaders must agree to the COVID-19 Code of Conduct before participating in this Mountaineers course.

June 25-June 30 registration is open to intermediate package students. Opens to general public July 1.

What would happen if your climbing partner was seriously injured half-way up a multi-pitch climb and needed to be evacuated?  Are you prepared to carry out a rescue with the limited resources you typically carry on an alpine rockclimb?

Self Rescue 2 is dedicated to rescue techniques, using only the equipment on your harness and the rope you are climbing on. Students will learn the skills necessary to rescue a fallen and incapacitated leader.

This course is designed to follow our spring Self Rescue 1 course which focuses on rescuing a leader and covers various lowering and raising systems, tandem and counter balance rappelling. If you have not taken the Self Rescue 1 course please email the leaders Yuxi Bai (yuxi.bai@gmail.com) and Jason Meng (jasonbmeng@gmail.com) before registering yourself for the course to make sure you have the pre-requisite skills.

There will be dates listed for review of Self Rescue 1 material most likely the first three Mondays in October (7, 14, 21st)

Badges you will earn:
