Field trip: Waterfall Canyoning Course

Rope Progression - Mountaineers Seattle Program Center

Learning vertical and horizontal progression using rope travel

8am Seattle Program Center

While many people think of canyoning as rappelling through slot canyons and waterfalls, its actually much more than that. The experienced canyoner uses ropes to move both vertically (down and up) and horizontally through exposed or challenging terrain. On day 2, students will practice ascending and descending ropes in a variety of contexts, as well as using ropes as hand lines to traverse challenging terrain and access exposed anchors.
