Field trip: Compressed Alpine Scrambling Course

Snow Skills - Snoqualmie Summit Ski Areas

Snow Field Trip for the Alpine Scramble Course Pod I

  • Moderate
  • Elevation Gain: 800 ft

Be ready to go at 8:00am at the Summit East parking lot. Plan on arriving by 7:45 so you have time to get your boots on and gear ready.

Alpental and Summit Central are open for skiing and Summit West will be crawling with dozens of basic climbing students. That leaves Summit East for us.

Required Equipment

Bring the complete gear list for an alpine snow scramble day trip, including helmet, ice axe, crampons, and gaiters. We will be in the snow a lot practicing self arrest and glissading, so good waterproof  and insulating layers are important, as are extra gloves/mittens. Bring enough food and water for a full day out.
