Meet at the Beverly Creek Campground to check in and find your group.

This all day field trip takes place in the Bean Creek Basin area of the Cascades north of the town of Cle Elum on I-90.

Here you will practice and be evaluated on the skills taught at the earlier field trips as part of a real live scramble trip up to the summit of one of the many peaks in the area. There is always plenty of snow and rock to practice your steep snow, self-arrest, glissading, rock scrambling, and navigation skills.

Required Equipment

Mountaineering boots, 10 essentials, ice axe, helmet, emergency downclimb kit.  In short, all your scrambling gear.  If you are planning to car camp one or both nights before and after (highly recommended), bring standard car camping gear, tent, bedding, food, drink, water, toilet paper, change of clothes, guitar, etc.  There is a FS restroom at the Beverly CG, but there is no potable water (though with a pump/filter, you could obtain water from the river).
