This skills testing Field Trip (in the form of an actual scramble to a peak) may change the destination to the nearby Esmeralda Peak (of equivalent rating and at a nearby trailhead.  You will get an email well ahead of time notifying you of the final choice of destination and related details, and may receive a reminder/update email during the week before the trip.

The date and meeting time will remain the same.  For the present, plan to meet at Beverly Creek Campground at 7:30 a.m.

This all day field trip takes place in the Bean Creek Basin area of the Cascades north of the town of Cle Elum on I-90.

Here you will learn and practice the skills taught at the earlier field trips as part of a real live scramble trip up to the summit of one of the many peaks in the area. There is always plenty of snow and rock to practice your steep snow, self-arrest, glissading, rock scrambling, and navigation skills.
