Adventure Speaker Series: Hiking America's Longest Mountain Trails with Michael Walther

Homegrown Olympia Mountaineer Michael Walther traded his college years for the chance to hike America's longest mountain trails. Join him for a romp along the Pacific Crest, Appalachian, and Continental Divide trails, a total of 7500 miles. See some of our most celebrated national parks, towering mountain ranges, lush forests, and friendliest towns through the eyes of a young thru hiker. Along the way you'll meet fellow hikers and generous 'Trail Angels,' camp in a restroom, get a very unfortunate tick bite, and find a mysterious burlap bundle in the desert. What's more, you may discover a long walk in your future!

EVENING SCHEDULE

5:45- Potluck -BRING a dish to share, your own plate and flatware. Eating starts promptly at 6:00

(Reminder:  Arrive early, parking and seating can be a challenge if you arrive late.)

6:15  Social activity -connect with our great outdoor community; grab a beverage, check out or return Mountaineer library books or bear canisters.

6:30 Meet the Mountaineers: meet some very cool, inspiring folks who like to hike, bike, kayak, climb, backpack, and that's not all! We are also very passionate conservationists. Ask us how you can get involved.
