Adventure Speaker Series-Tami Asars:Day Hiking Mount Adams & Goat Rocks

Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014 - Tami Asars- Author of two books: Hiking the Wonderland Trail and Day Hiking Goat Rocks and Mt Adams. Whether you fancy walking on the shoulders of a massive snow capped active stratovolcano, or exploring the subalpine meadows, craggy peaks and wildflower fields of an ancient one, there is a magnetic allure in the landscapes that surround some of Washington’s finest wilderness areas. Join author Tami Asars as she presents an interactive slideshow of hike suggestions from her brand-new book “Day Hiking Mount Adams & Goat Rocks Wilderness”; the perfect backpack companion for the summer hiking season. The book also includes hikes in the scenic outskirts of Yakima, Packwood and Cowlitz Valley, as well as trails in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, Indian Heaven Wilderness and the stunning William O Douglas Wilderness Area. Learn details about must-see hiking spots of spectacular grandeur and mind-blowing vistas, as well as those less traveled, for times when you want to escape it all. After the presentation, have your book signed and your hiking questions answered by the author. Books will be available for sales at the event.
