Outdoor Skills for Families is an Olympia Mountaineers activity in conjunction with Hands On Children's Museum to teach kids with their families about various wilderness skills for a successful and fun outdoor experience.
This is session 1 of the 3 part series. Register by calling the Hands On Children's Museum (360) 918-0818
Session 1 (April 27, 2017 6-7:30) : "Getting Started Going Outdoors." Where to Go, Family 10 Essentials and Clothing that Works.
Session 2 (May 4, 2017 6-7:30) : "Avoiding Trouble." Animal safety, navigation, First Aid, practice hike.
Session 3: (June 1, 2017 6-7:30) : "Intro to Camping." Camping gear, fire and food, Leave no Trace
Each class is $15 per family for Hands on Children's Museum or Mountaineers members, $25 for non members. You can participate in one session or all three.
Classes for kids 4-14 accompanied by one or more adults. Classes will be active learning for all.
