Stove & Fire Building Skills - Millersylvania State Park

This session will focus on learning how to teach youth techniques to safely use matches and lighters, build and light fires in the outdoor setting and possible also work with gas and other outdoor backpacking stoves.

We will meet at the Main Shelter from 1:00-4:00.

This session will focus on learning how to teach youth techniques to safely build and starts fires in the outdoor setting.

Please come with  the understanding that all who attend will have the opportunity to present their knowledge and techniques and bring any additional input to the table.

We will also work as a team to create curriculum that will be used for all future Fire Building workshops.

Bring your favorite firestarting gear if you want.  Since this is a collaborative class, you can work with what others bring or bring your own firestarting equipment to share. 

Also bring any backcountry stove you feel is appropriate for  use with kids so we can practice safety with stoves and teach how they work.
